Amalgative Sequence
Amalgative Sequence is built to make beautiful schedules. It is easy to use and powerful underneath, but the first thing it is for is a plan that reads well and looks the way you want it to: bar shape, fill, colour and labels are rules over your own columns. It runs in a web browser and on Linux and Windows. macOS is coming soon.
Amalgative Sequence is in beta. It is incomplete, it will have defects, and it is not licensed for production work. Work on copies. Never open your only copy of a file in it.
What it does
- Look and feel
- The whole appearance of a schedule is data rather than a setting: bar shape, fill, colour, labels and timescale, driven by rules over your own columns. It plots to PDF, PNG or SVG.
- Schedule
- Activities, calendars, four relationship types, constraints and the critical path, with an explanation for why every row sits where it does.
- Baselines
- Immutable once taken. A row outside a partial baseline reports as unbaselined, never as on plan.
- Quality checks
- The fourteen-point assessment clients ask for, plus three of our own. A check that cannot run says so.
- Resources and cost
- A pool with capacity profiles, levelling that proposes rather than applies, three cost sources and earned value.
- Look-ahead
- The rolling window a foreman works from, including the unstarted predecessors that are holding next week up.
- Scenarios
- Fork the schedule, diff it against the live sheet, merge it back whole or row by row.
